Voice and Cloud Communications Provisioning & Fulfilment Engineer

Tieto Tech Consulting, is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Voice and Cloud Communications Provisioning & Fulfilment Engineer, a professional who will join a project within a Telecom Team for our respectful client BICS.

Role Purpose

The engineer will support Voice and Cloud Communication Value Streams in delivering state-of-the-art solutions, with a focus on provisioning and repair activities. The candidate must have a great understanding of general Voice technologies and have working knowledge in SIP trunking implementations.

Based on business, technical, operational, and regulatory requirements, the Value Streams are designing and implementing network solutions and OSS systems within the Voice and Cloud Communication domains.

Key Responsibilities

• Assure second line support for all BICS Voice & Cloud Communication services and platforms

• Follow-up network availability and quality

• Perform proactive and reactive maintenance actions

• Suggest improvements in the proactive tasks & processes

• Work and collaborate with first line and customer care team in order to find solutions for problems reported by our customers

• Work and collaborate with our vendors and suppliers by reporting problems, follow up resolution and implementation in BICS network

• Take part in our guard duty service (maximum once every four weeks) and support planned maintenance activities

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in Electronics, Computer Sciences, IT, ICT and/or Telecommunications

• 3+ years experience in telecom, mainly in voice switching (mobile telecom operators or International carriers), with a focus on provisioning and repair activities

• Strong knowledge and experience in Telecom technologies and ITU/ETSI telecom standards/protocols (SS7/ISUP, VoIP/SIP, RTP, MGCP)

• Good understanding of network switching and routing as related to a Unified Communications and Voice over IP network

• Some practical experience with NGN platforms (Sonus or Dialogic operational experience is an advantage)

• Knowledge of SBCs like Ribbon SBC, Metaswitch SBC is an advantage

• Good knowledge about of Transmission world and equipments

• Knowledge of signalling protocol monitoring tools, protocol and trace analysers

• Unix/Linux basic operational experience

• Fluent in English, proficiency in written and spoken English, overall good communication skills

• Excellent team player: communicate, share, and collaborate

• Show flexibile ability to coordinate work with colleagues and apply rules and procedures depending on the situation

• Customer oriented

• Taking ownership and determination to deliver within time and expectation

• Ability to explain and present technical concepts and adapt it to the audience

• Self-learning: Eager to learn, quickly understands existing solutions and – if required – fast learning in an autonomous way

• Good planning & organization skills

• Analytical thinking & problem-solving skills

• Familiar with agile methodologies or ways of working

Experience considered a plus

• Experience in the (international) Wholesale Telecom Business

• Knowledge on one of the following topics

  • Metaswitch Perimeta SBC

  • Ribbon SBC (SBC5K and SWe) and Softswitch

  • NetNumber TITAN

  • LRF (Location Retrieval Function) implementations for emergency call handling

  • FreeSWITCH application server

  • Multiplatform unified communications

  • API technologies

  • SIP Registrar/Authentication mechanisms

  • VoLTE

  • STIR/SHAKEN concepts

  • Unified communication and collaboration platforms (e.g. MS Teams)

• Good understanding of telephony concepts (e.g. PBX, circuits, dial plans, routing)
