Services Software Engineer – Visual FoxPro- Tieto Tech Consulting (m/f/d)

A mid-level Software Engineer with strong FoxPro database and scripting expertise, working in a Professional Services / Client-Facing Engineering context, with light modern web exposure (HTML/JS).

Overview of the role:

The Services Software Engineer is responsible for creating databases with the client data in both the pre-and post-sales process. Daily tasks involve working with existing databases and performing data extraction, transformation, and load. A Services Software Engineer is responsible for identifying opportunities to optimize conversions and recommending the development of best practices to the Professional Services organization. A Services Software Engineer will primarily work with internal teams but may be required to communicate and/or travel to client sites as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Build and analyze FoxPro Tables
• Create FoxPro scripts to resolve reported issues and to provide clients with data not readily available in reporting options.
• Be a champion for department initiatives and values ensuring all actions promote the department’s mission statement.
• Develop high-quality solutions utilizing best-of-breed technology solutions.
• Review and interpret ongoing business report requirements
• Assist Customer Support/IT/DevOps teams in troubleshooting
• Provide timely scheduled time management reporting
• Must be a self-starter always looking for opportunities to assist or improve
• Other duties and projects as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant real-world experience
• Experience in Development or Similar Roles
• 3-6 years of experience with FoxPro
• 1-3 years of experience with HTML, JavaScript, CSS
• 2-5 years of experience with West Wind Web Connection for FoxPro
• Familiarity with Web Services and Windows Services
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps
• Excellent time management, resource organization, and priority establishment skills, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills that foster effective and efficient team productivity
• Outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated skills and abilities needed to coordinate, facilitate, and participate in a collaborative approach to the completion of tasks or assignments
• Strong Object-Oriented design and implementation skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrate basic Java script logic and proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Products
• Ability to plan and execute a technical demo setup

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• 3-6 years of experience with FoxPro
• 2-5 years of experience with West Wind Web Connection for FoxPro
• 1-3 years of experience with ASP.NET, XML, jQuery, JSON, and Ajax 
• Object-Oriented design and implementation skills
