About the Role
We are looking for an experienced IBM DB2 for z/OS technical specialist with proven expertise in DB2 related system administration, database administration, performance optimization, and competence on related archiving and storage solutions.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and availability of our DB2 environments while also managing, improving, and modernizing our archiving platforms to support business‑critical processes.

Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Administer, maintain, and optimize IBM DB2 databases across development, test, and production environments.
- Manage, configure, and improve our archive systems, ensuring robust storage, retrieval, and lifecycle management of archived data.
- Handle backup/restore strategies, disaster recovery planning, and overall data resilience.
- Monitor database performance and proactively resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Implement database security, access controls, and compliance routines.
- Work closely with application teams, architects, and infrastructure specialists to ensure smooth operations and quality deliveries.
- Be a vital part of migrating archive solutions cross platform.
What We Are Looking For
- Solid hands-on experience with IBM DB2 and the IBM z/OS platform in general.
- Proven experience operating or integrating with archiving systems on database level.
- Strong understanding of SQL tuning, performance monitoring, and database optimization.
- Experience with backup solutions, recovery procedures, and high‑availability concepts.
- Knowledge of SQL, COBOL and Easytrieve
- Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and support mission‑critical systems.
Additional relevant competence
- Familiarity with related storage platforms or enterprise archiving technologies such as On Demand and Content Manager
- Experience with automation (REXX, shell scripting, Python, Ansible, etc.).
- Knowledge of cloud migration or hybrid database environments.
