The Role

The Head of Information & Technology holds overall responsibility for the technology vision, engineering strategy, and digital capabilities of Tieto Tech Consulting. Reporting to the Managing Director, the role is pivotal in shaping how technology, architecture, and engineering excellence enable growth, competitiveness, and customer impact across all markets.

This role combines strategic CIO responsibility (technology governance, platforms, security, architecture) with hands‑on CTO leadership (engineering practices, delivery models, innovation and emerging technologies).
The position sits at the intersection of business strategy, technology, delivery, and people, ensuring that Tieto Tech Consulting remains a leading, future‑ready digital engineering partner.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Architecture

• Define and own the overall technology and engineering strategy for Tieto Tech Consulting, aligned with Tieto Group strategy, customer needs, and market demands
• Set direction for architectural principles, technology platforms, cloud strategy, and tooling across regions and delivery units
• Ensure coherent and scalable technology choices across services such as cloud, data, AI, cybersecurity, and software engineering

Engineering Excellence & Delivery Enablement

• Drive world‑class engineering standards, development practices, and modern delivery models across the organization
• Ensure high quality, secure, and compliant technology delivery at scale, balancing innovation, robustness, and speed
• Enable strong collaboration between sales, architecture, delivery, and global competence centers

Digital, Data & AI Leadership

• Lead the evolution of Tieto Tech Consulting’s capabilities within AI, data platforms, analytics, and cloud‑native development
• Support customers’ digital, data‑driven, and AI‑enabled transformation journeys through strong technical thought leadership
• Translate emerging technologies into relevant, scalable, and commercially viable offerings

Governance, Risk & Security

• Own technology governance, including cybersecurity, compliance, risk management, and resilience across the organization, in close collaboration with Group functions
• Ensure secure and responsible use of technology, including AI and data, in line with regulatory and ethical requirements
• Act as a senior advisor to customers and internal stakeholders on technology risk and complexity

Transformation & Continuous Improvement

• Lead technology‑driven transformation initiatives across processes, platforms, and ways of working
• Drive simplification, standardization, and reuse across tools, platforms, and engineering approaches
• Actively shape the evolution of operating and delivery models to support growth and profitability

Leadership & Culture

• Be a core member of the Tech Consulting leadership team and a role model for strong technological leadership
• Build and inspire a culture of engineering excellence, learning, innovation, and collaboration
• Work closely with People & Culture to support competence development, talent attraction, and leadership capability

Requirements

• Extensive leadership experience from large‑scale technology consulting or digital engineering environments
• Proven track record of leading global, multi‑country technology or engineering organizations
• Strong understanding of cloud, software engineering, data, AI, and modern digital platforms
• Demonstrated ability to translate business strategy into technology execution
• Experience driving transformation, modernization, and operational change

Key Success Factors

• Strong leadership background from large‑scale technology consulting, digital engineering, or complex technology organizations
• Proven ability to bridge business strategy and deep technology understanding
• Experience leading global, multi‑country engineering and architecture environments
• Credibility across cloud, software engineering, data, AI, and modern digital platforms
• Comfortable driving change, innovation, and modernization in complex and fast‑moving environments
• Customer‑centric mindset combined with architectural rigor and execution discipline
