Rayna Glavusanova: Growing through curiosity, communication and purpose in Quality Engineering

There is an artistry in communicating without speech, and Rayna Glavusanova brings that same focus and intention to quality engineering.

Driven by an inquisitive mind and strengthened by clear, mindful communication, she transforms challenges into opportunities for growth. Her journey offers a refreshing, human perspective on tech — one worth diving into.

Discovering a Path into Technology

Rayna Glavusanova, Quality Engineer at Tieto Tech Consulting in Sofia, Bulgaria, began her journey into tech with a simple curiosity about the products and systems shaping everyday life. Accessible courses and events made the industry feel welcoming and full of opportunity.

A Career Shaped by Adaptability

Rayna’s career began in customer support, where she built strong communication and problem-solving skills. This foundation opened the door to QA, a space where her curiosity and analytical mindset flourished. She has since worked on projects across manufacturing, staffing and automotive domains, each broadening her understanding of how technology supports real-world processes.

Inspired by People and Clear Communication

For Rayna, the best part of her role is the close collaboration with knowledgeable, committed, and helpful people, who inspire her to be better by setting an example. She enjoys being part of discussions where technical and domain specific terminology flows naturally - “There’s real joy in using a fancy word correctly!”

She has learned to grow by balancing work complexity: “A mix of things I do well and things I’m not familiar with, work best for me.” Alternating between easier and more challenging work helps her build confidence while continuously expanding her knowledge.

Thoughts on Gender Balance in Tech

Although Rayna has experienced supportive environments throughout her career, she is aware that “not experiencing discrimination against myself doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist”.
