Kaamilah von Schoultz, Solution Consultant

I’m Kaamilah von Schoultz, and I work as a Solution Consultant at Tieto Tech Consulting. I’m originally from South Africa, but I currently live in Oslo, Norway.

Right now, I’m working with a customer focused on waste management and recycling. My role involves data analysis and Power BI, as well as contributing to their data platform—retrieving, cleaning, and processing data. It’s a great role as it lets me use the skills I’m good at while also learning lots of new things.

I first joined Tieto in 2021 as a graduate, and I returned in 2025. After leaving the company, I worked as an in-house data scientist/data analyst at a financial tech startup.

What I missed most, aside from the work itself, were my colleagues. I have teammates I get along with really well, and they make coming to work much more enjoyable. I also realized that I prefer working directly with customers and having a role that’s both technical and client-facing, which is why I decided to come back.

When I returned, it was great to see that different teams were sitting together and socializing more. I really appreciate this, as it not only creates a positive work environment but also fosters open dialogue and potential collaboration between teams.

What I value most at Tieto are the opportunities for growth. There is always a chance to take a course and learn something new. My manager puts a lot of emphasis on helping us find roles that align with our interests and development goals.

Greetings or comments for other Tieto alumni who are wondering, if they should return.

It’s always a bit scary to go back to a former workplace, but I definitely think it’s worth the risk.
