Job Description
Test Engineer - Tieto Banktech (m/f/d)
We are looking for a Test Engineer who wants to be part of Tieto Banktech. Tieto Banktech powers some of the Nordics’ most trusted banking systems with secure, reliable, and scalable solutions. Using automation, data, AI, and cloud, supported by hands-on guidance, we help banks modernize their core, strengthen trust, and deliver greater impact across the banking experience.
As a Test Engineer, you take ownership of quality within your team’s scope. You work closely with developers and QA colleagues in Agile teams, ensuring features are tested end-to-end and risks are identified early.
Collaborate with Developers and QA team members to ensure iteration goals and quality standards are met
Plan, execute, and analyze testing for features, change requests, and bug fixes
Design, prepare, and execute effective manual and automated tests for functional and regression coverage
Analyze system behavior using logs, data, and integrations — not just UI-level validation
Contribute to automation by adding new test cases within existing frameworks
Work with the development team to set up and maintain reliable test environments and test data
Take ownership of testing within your team (feature / epic level), ensuring predictable and stable releases
Support and guide less experienced team members when needed
We Are Looking For :
2–5+ years of hands-on experience in software testing within an Agile environment
Ability to independently plan and execute testing for features or epics
Experience with manual testing and contributing to automation
Good understanding of testing types, levels, and quality assurance practices
Experience working with databases and Linux environments
Basic programming skills in at least one language (e.g. C++, Python, Java, or JavaScript)
Ability to understand and work with C++-based systems or components
Experience with version control workflows (Git or similar)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills — able to investigate, not just report issues
Ability to take ownership and provide structured feedback within the team
Fluent English with clear written and verbal communication skills
Nice to Have :
Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins or similar)
Experience testing microservices or distributed systems
Understanding of test data management
Exposure to performance or security testing basics
Experience testing or debugging C++ applications
ISTQB certification (Foundation or higher)
We Offer :
A meaningful role in a quality-focused product engineering environment
Work on real systems with complex integrations and business logic
A team culture where quality is a shared responsibility, not a separate function
Opportunity to grow
Opportunities to improve both manual and automated testing skills
Hybrid work model with flexibility to work from home or from our office in Riga
Salary up to 3200 EUR/month/gross* and benefits package (health insurance, sports, etc.)
